Our History
Slapikas Investigative Services was established in 1989 by Frank Slapikas, Sr., a retired FBI agent and Ex-Marine, after his retirement of 25 years in the Bureau. His daughter, Shereen Slapikas, worked with him, her father on his very first case as a private investigator and continued to work with him in the Tuscaloosa area until his retirement in 2011.
In 1994, Shereen Slapikas moved to Birmingham and started a new branch, Slapikas Investigative Service, Inc., to better serve the Birmingham and surrounding cities and at the same time continued to serve in her home town of Tuscaloosa.
Shereen Slapikas, is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a major in Criminal Justice and minor in Social Work. She is also a graduated of the 100th Session – Tuscaloosa Police Academy. Shereen’s experience in law enforcement and loss prevention has contributed to her skills as an investigator and is unrelenting and unafraid to do what it takes to get results for her clients.
With over 35 years of experience in the field, she brings creativity, passion and love for her work that sets her apart from other investigators. Our firm has male and female investigators and often times there is a distinct advantage in a female private investigator performing certain types of investigations such as undercover that might be impossible for a male investigator.
